JS Morlu, Ghana is a Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants firm that provides accounting, auditing, investigations, tax, training, and management consulting services to a diverse range of clients in the private and public sectors.

Overview:

This is a full-time on-site role located in Accra for a Senior Auditor position. As a Senior Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in leading audit engagements, overseeing audit teams, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with clients to assess their financial processes, identify risks, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance their internal controls and financial reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to audit objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
  2. Review and analyze client financial statements, accounting records, and internal controls to identify areas of improvement and potential risks.
  3. Supervise audit teams, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to junior auditors to foster their professional development.
  4. Conduct risk assessments and develop audit plans and testing strategies tailored to each client’s unique business environment and industry.
  5. Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and observations effectively to clients, management teams, and stakeholders through clear and concise written reports and presentations.
  6. Collaborate with clients to address audit findings, implement corrective actions, and enhance internal control frameworks and financial reporting processes.
  7. Stay updated on changes in auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to ensure audit quality and compliance.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a fully qualified Chartered Account (e.g., CA, ACCA, CPA). Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Proficiency in audit software (Auditfile, DraftWorx and/or CaseWare) and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of audit experience in a reputable audit firm, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  4. In-depth knowledge of auditing standards (e.g., IFRS, ISA, US GAAP), accounting principles, and regulatory requirements applicable in Ghana.
  5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify financial risks, assess internal controls, and propose practical solutions.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, lead audit teams, and present findings to stakeholders effectively.
  7. Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing audit engagements, mentoring staff, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
